Deluxe Corporation is seeking an individual looking to grow their human resource career into a Sr. HR Generalist role. In this position you will perform as a strategic business partner to provide frontline, day to day support administering human resources policies and programs covering a broad range of HR issues which may include staffing, employee relations, training and development, performance management, compensation, benefits, diversity initiatives, policy interpretation and HRIS reporting. We anticipate you will be capable to work independently and as a team player while building a commitment to the position and the company. Customer and quality focused.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as a strategic business partner providing HR support that contributes to the alignment of business strategy and objectives.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with employees. Provides recommendations to HR Manager and business partners on creating and maintaining an engaged workforce. Coordinates related initiatives.
- Provides information and interpretation to management and employees on workforce practices, company policies, performance management and employment law considerations. Ensures compliance with internal controls and code of conduct requirements.
- Conducts employee investigations, where appropriate and as directed, including compilation of summary document with recommendations and review with HR Manager and management.
- In conjunction with the HR Manager, acts as a consultant to management in handling employee performance issues including decision around disciplinary action and review of any related documentation prior to meeting with employee ensuring compliance with company policy, federal and state employment laws.
- Conduct exit interviews; compile and present data to HR Manager and management.
- Facilitate and/or coordinate management and employee development training to meet immediate and future needs.
- In partnership with the corporate Leave Administrator, oversees leave programs for assigned client group, including Disability, Family and Medical Leave, Sabbaticals and Workers Compensation.
- Supports exempt and non-exempt recruiting efforts. Provides critical feedback on candidates and skill sets against job requirements. Assists to onboard new employees and conducts New Hire Orientation.

Required:
* B.A. Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant HR experience
- PHR or SPHR preferred.
- Solid knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
- Strong consultative and relationship building skills.
- Experience in employment and selection, training, managing change initiatives, and leadership development.
- Strong assessment and decision making skills, and an outstanding ability to influence and build relationships within the organization and externally.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to listen.
- Flexibility, ability to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment.
